The Conventional Wisdom

Now, isn’t it ironic that the conventional wisdom so often is rooted in commercial gain - and how wise can that be in a world where there are so few people taking such a large share of that gain and so many people suffering on the other side of the economic divide.  Isn’t it ironic that those who suffer still consider it wise to play their part in making the system work primarily for a few at the top. Why is this?

Well, it’s because we accept conventional wisdom about our lives … work hard and reap the rewards … keep you head down and mouth buckled … And then there are the political versions of the conventional wisdom.  They goes something like a Rising Tide Lifts all Boats “The Trickle Up Effect.”   … and now instead of lifting boats … us drivers are Lyfting people, while the investors in execs of Lyft sit on a rising tide to the tune of a $2.5 billion corporate valuations.  To size up Uber’s boat just multiply the Lyft numbers by twenty.   Either way it’s a big boat.
