What Is This?

 

I don’t even know what I’ve got in these thousand pages and two hundred voice recordings, other than an amazing collection of stories - painting an intensely human view of human nature during one of the most transformative periods of human history in one of the most diverse and fascination cities in the world. So ... is this a psychological study, a travelogue, a history book, a crime report, a blog, a coffee table book, a podcast series, a story slam, a quote collection, a big pile of dung, a literary masterpiece ... or all of the above?  

 

I don’t know.   How am I supposed to make sense of the incredible variety of experiences -  from techies to artistes, from university professors to middle school students, from moguls to misfits, from deacons to demons, from bookers to hookers, from drag queens to druggies - all there in that cluttered desktop folder called Travels With Vanessa.
